This is my EXCLUSIVE interview with the up-and-coming designer...

F:When did you know that fashion was a part of your life?

R:I think I have known it ever since I was a child. When I was three, I would choose my own clothes and go shopping with my mom for outfits I thought I would look great in. I am lucky my mother let me dress the way I wanted to; even though at the time, like many 3 year olds, I loved anything that was shinny! Lets just say I wore a lot of metallic gold!

F:What inspires you?

R:So many things inspire me. I love art, and art history. I always look for inspiration in the art history books, I try my best to read a lot of them. I also am inspired by natural elements such as light and water... Reflections fascinate me.

F:10 years from now, what do you want your line to be known for?

R:10 years from now I would like my line to be known for its quality and uniqueness. My aim is that a Razan Alazzouni piece will be considered an art piece that isn’t seasonal. An article of clothing you will always want to wear.

F:Your line has a hip prêt-a-porter look...Will you be adding a couture line in the future?

R:I already have a couture line. That is actually how I started. And every season, I create one or two couture dresses for private clients.

F:Do you have an ideal customer in mind for your line?

R:My ideal customer is a strong, ambitious, and confident woman that reflects her personality in her style and the way she carries herself.

F:Are you inspired by vintage clothing or old films?

R:I love old Hollywood movies. I think the 40s was such an amazing decade for fashion!

F:Who are your favorite designers?

R:I have so many! My all time favorite is Givenchy and Riccardo tisci! I also love the style of the house of Christian Dior.

F:What makes a woman chic?

R:Her posture... No matter what a woman is wearing, if she carries herself well she will always be seen as chic.

F:Who's your style icon? (You can list more than one)

R:Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Lina Alafrangi (my mother), and Giovanna Battaglia.

F:Describe your perfect day?

R:My perfect day would be lying on the beach with an amazing novel in my hand.

F:List 3 items that are always present in your bag?

R:My Hermes notebook, my wallet, and a sewing kit in case of an emergency!

F:Blogs are very 'in' these days, do you follow any fashion blogs?

R:Blogs are very in! I follow many .

F:Where can we find your clothes in Riyadh, Dubai, or Doha?

R:We usually do private viewings for clients in the cities you mentioned. As for Our fall collection, we are negotiating with different boutiques that we will announce later.
