EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with Luxury Shoppers's Ezgi Icel & Lian Beraha

Lian Beraha & Ezgi Icel have been working as personal shoppers for five years, consulting for fashion companies, free lance styling and giving seminars about image and styling in the fashion academy in Istanbul...
They also have a website where they post their ideas, inspirations, and their daily looks!

They were photographed by Tommy Ton, and the rest is fashion history... Now you can see numerous features about them all over the fashion blogs...

I personally think that they exude style and elegance...

I have been fortunate enough to get an exclusive interview with the duo...

Q:When did you know that fashion was a part of your life? 

Ezgi: I have decided when I was a teenager around 15, It wasn't fashion specifically back then but design...  

Q:How did you 2 meet and why did you work together? 

Both:We used to work at the same company and that's how we met.We didn't think over it too much, it just happened:)

  

Q:Who's in charge of the business side and who's in charge of the creative side?  

Both:We both do everything...

Q:What does a personal shopper do? Is it the same as a stylist? 

Both:A Stylist has a larger customer profile and more freedom to do what they want as they shoot for a magazine... As personal shoppers you always have to keep in mind that trends are going to be applied to real people. You have to consider the age, hair color, social life, height, proportions...etc  

Q:Describe your personal styles?

Lian: Parisienne chic, rock chic, all black, always with an edge...

Ezgi: I like to mix colors, prints with a minimal and feminine edge... 

Q:Image is everything these days, If you don't educate yourself and evolve you'll find yourself out of date or old fashioned, What do you do to keep your style up to date? 

Both:We travel a lot! We read a lot , and we analyze people , it's a huge daily  practice which is fun at the same time. 

Q:Are you inspired by vintage clothing or old films? 

Both:Yes both!  

Q:Who are your favorite designers? 

lian: Ricardo Tisci, Albert Elbaz, Olivier Rousteing 

Ezgi: Phoebe Philo, Raf Simons , Nicolas Ghesquiere

Q:A lot of Designers used to be stylists, Is designing in your future?

Both:We never make plans, it will happen if it is suppose to happen..

Q:Who are your fashion icons?

Both: Jane Birkin, Bianca Jagger, Romy Schenider

Q:What are your favorite cities? (list your favorite restaurants and shopping spots in each city)

Both: Paris (Kinugawa and Ferdi), Le Bon Marche , and Rue st Honore,  NY (Cafe Gitanes, İndoschine) Barneys for shopping and Resurrection for Vintage...

Q:What do you do in your spare time?

Both: Watch Movies, search, and read news about art and fashion in the entire universe!

Q:List 3 items that are always present in your bag?

Both: iPhone, camera, and pink blush.

Q:Blogs are very 'in' these days, do you follow any fashion blogs?

Both: The Sartorialist, Jak and Jill, The man Repeller, I Love You magazine, Purple Dairy...

Q:Are you thinking of opening your own boutique or are you exclusively selling your luxury items online?

Both: Online shopping will be active soon on our blog...
