EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with Ece Gozen...
Ece Gozen is one of the most talented and original fashion designers I have ever encountered... Her illusional Harmony F/W 2012 collection, is inspired by Geometry and the art of M.C Escher... I truly loved the cuts and the theme of the collection, even the colors melt into each other in a futuristic and innovative way. I never knew that mathematics could be so fabulous! I personally believe in her and wish her all the best and success in life...
Not only is she a fashion designer, but she's also a wonderful fashion illustrator...
I'm sure that her name will be on every tongue 5 years from now...

I was lucky enough to get an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with the beautiful designer:
F:When did you know that fashion was a part of your life?
F:When did you know that fashion was a part of your life?
E:Having been involved in fashion and
design at a very early age, I found myself eager to draw and
paint, an interest which would finally turn into designing clothes and playing
with pieces of cloth.
F:Were your parents in the fashion business at all? Are they artists in anyway?
E:No they weren't! As a
child, being with my parents, whom I believe had many hidden talents, I was always
surrounded by pencil drawings and oil canvases...
F:What inspires you?
E:I get easily inspired by an object, a photo, or sometimes a person. But in the end, all these inspirations melt together into the definite look I have in mind... In order to be inspired, I always need to maintain my style and all my creations must be up to date and cool!
F:10 years from now, what do you want your line to be known for?
E:These are my hashtags for what I want my brand to be 10 years down the line! #innovative #artistic #sportcouture #fresh #cool
F:Who are your favorite designers?
E:Maison Martin Margiela, Raf Simons, and Olivier Theyskens.
F:Who are your fashion icons? (you can
list as many as you like)
E:Charlotte Gainsbourg, Carine Roitfeld, and Kate
Moss.
F:Your illustrations are fabulous, Why don't you collect them in a book?
E:First of all thank you for your nice comment,
Nowadays, I’m thinking about that... I want to collect them in a book and show case them in an
exhibition.
F:What do you do in your spare time?
These are some of Ece's illustrations, I think they are amazing and oh so very 'vogue'-ish... |
F:What do you do in your spare time?
E:Usually, I watch a lot of documentaries and research and educate myself about different subjects...
F:You are an assistant designer to
Hakaan Yildirim, what did you learn from him?
E:I experienced wonderful things with him... Working with him exposed me to
really amazing opportunities.
F:Blogs
are very 'in' these days, do you follow any fashion blogs?
E:I really like to follow fashion blogs, especially Treandland, dazed
digital, and sartorislist.
F:Are you thinking of opening your own
boutique or are you exclusively selling your creations online?
E:Actually I’m thinking of opening my own
boutique but my preferential plan is to study MA in fashion at CSM!
