Mary-Kate Olsen's So French Engagement
French banker Olivier Sarkozy proposed to style icon Mary-Kate Olsen with a vintage Cartier engagement ring. The ring was purchased at a Sotheby's jewelry
auction for a cool $81,250, according to Stylecaster. I didn't think that such a masterpiece would be 'reasonably' prices!
The European-cut diamond weighs in at four carats, and is surrounded by 16 sapphires. The 'petals' are 'single-cut' diamonds. The ring, which dates back to 1953,
reportedly belonged to a Tennessee-based jewelry collector before it was
bought at the auction. After much discussion at our household, my sister swears that MK picked the ring; whereas I believe that her fiancé knows her so well that he now has the same taste. Rumors say that she only said yes after making sure that Mr. Sarkozy was the one. He asked her twice prior to her saying yes!
I guess happy endings or rather beginnings do exist...
They are a strange couple but all the best for their love! And …what ring!!
