How Audrey Ate...
"At home Audrey didn't like fancy food. She much preferred a simple
meal that was exquisitely done — a perfectly cooked steak, a beautiful
salad, some raspberries. When she entertained ("which is not, please,
capital-E entertain"), she would have six or eight friends over for a
dinner of, say, spaghetti, a mixed salad including whatever was in
season, and a lovely chocolate mousse for dessert. Doris Brynner, who
lived near Audrey in Switzerland, remembers that Audrey loved pasta. She
also admits that as a treat when their husbands were away, the two
women would indulge in vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge sauce." -Pamela Clarke Keogh
